Fabric and Craft
Woven in Gaji satin silk, a smooth, lustrous cloth long used in Gujarat for bandhani work. The pattern is made by bandej — the fabric is pinched and tied into thousands of tiny points before dyeing, so each dot is resist-dyed by hand rather than printed. Mirror work is added over the dyed ground, catching light against the satin.
Occasion Guide
Made for festive occasions, weddings, Navratri and family celebrations. Gold or kundan lifts against the black; a red blouse keeps it traditional.
